Pantomimes

Pantomimes
In addition to caroling, children will put on short plays for the neighbors. These plays are called pantomimes. The pantomimes are normally silent plays that are very funny and they are centered around Christmas themes. Children will put the plays on and their main goal is to make the adults laugh at their antics. An entire pantomime might only be 2 or 3 minutes long and it often includes the audience playing along. There are traditional pantomimes such as The night before Christmas or The Twelve days of Christmas but the more creative you are, the better. Children will often act out the gifts they would really like to get for Christmas and the adults try to guess what they are acting out.
